Edward Kienholz and Nancy Reddin Kienholz

Take a tour on the Merry-Go-World.

An overview of the works of Edward Kienholz, with some illustrations.

"In 1972 he met Nancy Reddin in Los Angeles."
Short biography .
"He was never politically correct.
His art is blunt.
Like Carl Sandberg's poetry, it screams out "hogbutcher."
As for its ugliness,
the beauty in Kienholz's art is in its very ugliness--the ugliness of truth. "
Short essay by Marge Bulmer
"When leaving, please be quiet, our neighbors are trying to sleep"
"Other reflections on Kienholz as a result of closer inspection:"
Vance Bell's Kienholz study.
"Kienholz is in the great American tradition
at least as old as Twain and shared by Hemingway and Faulkner:
the idea that the activities that parallel the biggest issues are going on
right in our own lives, right at home."
